Good Leaders Step Out

PF The reality is you are always somewhere in a cycle of either centralizing or decentralizing all your stuff. You’re either reacting to the big legacy system or you are trying to bring everything together so you can achieve more efficiency. The really mature thing to do and the thing that very senior leaders are capable of doing is saying, “Where am I in that cycle? Where would I like to be? What can I do to avoid the risks?”

RZ You’re touching on someone very, very important here, and fundamental, which is the big leaders, the good leaders, step out. Because when you look at the history of a system…what you’re seeing is a bunch of reactions to business need.
