I ended up hogging the mic a little bit at the unofficial blogging seminar at the festival, which was basically a get together for everyone who was contributing to that blog. They lucked out in that they have a great group doing the blog this year, and they just let anyone who wanted contrib. Get crazy about 2 a.m., throw in a Lynch-like freaky-freak just to keep this odd character guessing...

</dc:description><dc:identifier>81034398</dc:identifier><dc:subject/>

<swim:publish>publish</swim:publish>

<dc:title/><dc:description>PixelPile.org: A Community PhotoLog

</dc:description><dc:identifier>81032053</dc:identifier><dc:subject/>

<swim:publish>publish</swim:publish>

<dc:title/><dc:description>PhotoDude's Web Log: Brain Dump & Pixel Pile

</dc:description><dc:identifier>81031937</dc:identifier><dc:subject/>

<swim:publish>publish</swim:publish>

<dc:title/><dc:description>New Photography ... photo-artist Chris Lane

</dc:description><dc:identifier>81031743</dc:identifier><dc:subject/>

<swim:publish>publish</swim:publish>

<dc:title/><dc:description>making up for lost time: this first long section will be stuff most of you have probly seen before, but just in case some people out there dropping by danielsjourneyland haven't, here it is; and the rest of you can marvel at your own creativity as you scroll down-down-down:

WILL. Nine months ago. I dropped the radio into the bathtub on accident. Nothing happened. It was one of those old crappy radios. Not waterproof at all. There I am, in the tub, with it still playing underwater.

ASHLEY. You were lucky.

WILL. So I then plugged in the hairdryer and dropped it into the tub.

ASHLEY. You what?!

WILL. Nothing happened.

ASHLEY. That was not smart.

WILL. Then I grabbed my toaster…

ASHLEY. You didn’t.

WILL. I did. Nothing. I had almost every appliance in the bathtub with me. It was quite an evening.

ASHLEY. You’re an idiot. A lucky idiot.

WILL. Maybe so, but after that, I’ve been obsessed with the possibility of ending it-- heaven or no heaven. The next day I gave myself nine months to live. I marked my calendar. Today’s the day.

Am I going to have to go to Texas now??? :)

Mad output at gravattville:

"the people without no resources" are pleased to announce the launch of their first attempt at a web-based installation. (a "poor" installation is part art show, part concert, part church service, and part drunken party). saturday september 14th through saturday september 28th.

...I think you can just email him if yer interested. I ordered my copy two days ago, there were plenty used on Amazon. And just for the record, I told him about that book. He, as always, just got around to it a lot sooner than I... :) ...just kidding...I am truly stoked about this installation...

Scott also did a very long interview with Matt Bubar. Good read. Long. Try it in a few sittings. My main thought ATM is how identical our thinking is on so many of these things. I guess that's why we're friends 'till the end, tho. :) ...The cul part is, tho, that Matt set up a discussion board for the interview, and things are, as Scott said, getting interesting...feel free to jump in the fray...

OK back to our regularly scheduled programming...

Today I set up my show at Common Grounds. Very cul space that I hope anyone in driving distance will manage to go see sometime this month. I'm planning on hanging out over there for sure tomorrow (Monday, Labor Day) night, and hopefully some nights here and there. I may say in this space when I'll be there, but the pics will be there all the time, so it's not really a big deal for me to be there, now is it?

First notes from the road // GB02:

...from my notebook...eventually I'm thinking of making all this coherent but that's not what the blog's for, now is it? (wait i'm repeating myself)

Thoughts on Vaux (written probly Sun morning after their Sat night service)

Suffering -- this is one of the few groups honestly dealing with the realities of life, allowing that struggle to happen honestly, leaving space for an authentic response to God ...and then doing something creative, be it a dealingwith those feelings or just a spontaneous creative outburst ...and not being afraid to do that creative thing no matter how obtuse or potentially controversial.

</dc:description><dc:identifier>80995080</dc:identifier><dc:subject/>

<swim:publish>publish</swim:publish>
</rdf:RDF>
